A vessel reaches the particular time, she needs the highest level of repair & maintenance i.e. dismantle the whole set of power facilities such as MTU engine, ZF or REINTJES reduce gearbox, KAMEWA (Rolls Royce) or MJP water jet, shafting etc. from the vessel and send to workshop. They have a breakup, cleaning, checkout, replacement of basic consumable parts such as o-ring, seal ring, bearing, etc. and those abnormal damaged parts respectively. Some parts have the repair for the work of processing, welding, electroplating, inlaying, etc. in order to reduce the cost of parts replacement. The related electric control system also has a checkout, repair & maintenance, adjustment and calibration. There is no need to carry the bench testing after the reassembly of engine, reduction gearbox and water jet. They can be sent to the vessel for the installation, testing against wharf and sea trial at once. We carried such overhaul for a hundred sets which were all successful in once testing operation before returning to the ship owners.
It must be stressed that the parts for such overhaul of power equipment are all supplied and purchased by our company. The prices surely are much lower than those of equipment manufacturers . The most importance is that upon long-term operation the qualities of parts proved reliable and no problem caused after the installation. Our customers are satisfied and have good comments.
By the way, the majority of special tools for the repair & maintenance including overhaul of MTU engine are designed and made by ourselves. Compared with those of MTU, they are simple, practical, ease of use and low-cost. We can supply special tools especially the whole set of special tools for overhaul of MTU396 series engine.
